Discover the Wonders of Northern Tanzania on a 9-Day Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's incredible wildlife destinations. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Take the rest of the day to relax and prepare for your exciting safari adventure.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a full day game drive in this beautiful park, spotting various wildlife species including lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. In the evening, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Natron
Leave Tarangire and drive towards Lake Natron, a stunning alkaline lake located in the Rift Valley. Enjoy a nature walk around the lake, where you can witness flamingos and other water birds. Take in the breathtaking views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano nearby. Spend the night at a campsite in Lake Natron.
Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park
Embark on a thrilling journey to Serengeti National Park, one of Africa's most renowned wildlife reserves. Spend the next three days exploring the vast plains of Serengeti, witnessing the Great Migration (seasonal) and encountering a wide range of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, and countless species of birds. Overnight stays will be at a lodge or campsite within the park.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a natural wonder. Enjoy a game drive within the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the rare black rhino. The crater's unique ecosystem offers a chance to spot the Big Five in one location. Later in the day, head to your lodge near the crater for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park
Visit Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. Explore the park on a game drive, encountering elephants, hippos, giraffes, and other wildlife. The park is also known for its scenic landscapes, including the alkaline lake and the Rift Valley escarpment. Overnight stay will be at a lodge or campsite near the park.
Day 9: Arusha National Park - Departure
On your last day, visit Arusha National Park, a hidden gem nestled between Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a walking safari in the park, where you can spot buffalo, colobus monkeys, and a variety of bird species. After the safari, transfer back to Arusha for a farewell lunch and depart for Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Northern Tanzania safari adventure.
