Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the rest of the day to explore the city on your own.
Day 2: Drive to Langano
After breakfast, you will depart from Addis Ababa and drive south towards the Rift Valley. You will stop at Lake Ziway for a boat ride to see the hippos and birdlife before continuing to Lake Langano for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Bale Mountains National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Bale Mountains National Park. In the park, you will have the opportunity to see the endemic Ethiopian wolves, mountain nyala, and different bird species. You will stay overnight at a lodge in the park.
Day 4: Hiking in Bale Mountains National Park
Today, you will go for a full day of hiking in the Bale Mountains National Park. You will hike to the Sanetti Plateau, which is over 4,000 meters above sea level, and see the stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. You will return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Drive to Arba Minch
After breakfast, you will depart from Bale Mountains National Park and drive to Arba Minch. On the way, you will stop at the Dorze Village to see their unique way of life, including their traditional weaving and beehive-shaped houses. You will stay overnight in Arba Minch.
Day 6: Boat Tour and Crocodile Market
After breakfast, you will take a boat tour on Lake Chamo to see the crocodiles and hippos. You will also visit the local market where crocodile skins are sold. In the afternoon, you will drive to Turmi, where you will stay overnight.
Day 7: Visit Hamer Village
After breakfast, you will visit a Hamer village to see their traditional way of life, including their unique dress, hairstyles, and elaborate body decorations. In the evening, you will return to Turmi for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Jinka and Mursi Village
After breakfast, you will drive to Jinka, where you will visit the South Omo Research Center and Museum. You will also visit a Mursi village to see their unique lip plates and other cultural practices. You will stay overnight in Jinka.
Day 9: Return to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, you will drive back to Addis Ababa, stopping at several local markets and villages along the way. You will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight.
