Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be met by a representative from our tour company and transferred to your hotel in Addis Ababa. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore the city, visiting attractions such as the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the Merkato.
Day 2: Addis Ababa to Arba Minch
After breakfast, you will drive to Arba Minch, a town located in the southern part of Ethiopia. Along the way, you will stop at Tiya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient stelae. You will also visit the village of Adadi Mariam to see one of Ethiopia's oldest rock-hewn churches. Upon arrival in Arba Minch, you will check into your hotel and relax for the evening.
Day 3: Arba Minch to Jinka
After breakfast, you will drive to Jinka, a small town located in the heart of the Omo Valley. Along the way, you will visit the Konso people, known for their terraced agriculture and unique way of life. You will also stop at Key Afar, a bustling market town where the Banna and Tsemai people come to trade their goods. Upon arrival in Jinka, you will check into your hotel and prepare for the next day's adventure.
Day 4: Jinka to Mago National Park
Today you will visit Mago National Park, home to the Mursi people, known for their elaborate lip plates. You will have the opportunity to meet with the Mursi, learn about their traditions and customs, and witness their unique way of life. You will also have the chance to explore the park, which is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and lions.
Day 5: Jinka to Turmi
After breakfast, you will drive to Turmi, a small town located in the heart of the Hamer people's territory. Along the way, you will visit the Dimeka market, where the Hamer and Karo people come to trade their goods. Upon arrival in Turmi, you will check into your hotel and prepare for the next day's adventure.
Day 6: Turmi
Today you will spend the day with the Hamer people, one of the most well-known tribes in the Omo Valley. You will have the opportunity to witness a bull-jumping ceremony, a coming-of-age ritual that is central to Hamer culture. You will also have the chance to learn about their traditions and customs, and witness their unique way of life.
Day 7: Turmi to Omorate
After breakfast, you will drive to Omorate, a small town located on the banks of the Omo River. Here you will visit the Dassanech people, known for their elaborate body painting and unique way of life. You will have the opportunity to learn about their traditions and customs, and witness their unique way of life.
Day 8: Omorate to Arba Minch
After breakfast, you will drive back to Arba Minch, where you will spend the night. Along the way, you will stop at the Konso people, known for their terraced agriculture and unique way of life.
Day 9: Departure from Arba Minch to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in Arba Minch for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity to explore the city or do some last-minute shopping before your flight home.
