Below is the best Itinerary that helps you explore these destinations on a safari starting from Arusha.
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. You will have the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize to the new environment.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. You may also spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and other wildlife. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3-4: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park with a stop at Olduvai Gorge, the site of the famous early human fossils. Spend two days exploring the vast plains of Serengeti, home to the annual wildebeest migration and an abundance of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. You will stay overnight at a luxurious camp inside the park.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest intact volcanic calderas in the world. Descend into the crater for a game drive and spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) as well as other wildlife such as flamingos, zebras, and gazelles. In the evening, return to your lodge on the crater rim for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. You will have a game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. In the afternoon, drive to Mto wa Mbu, a small town known for its cultural diversity. You will have a chance to visit a local market and interact with different ethnic groups. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Mto wa Mbu.
Day 7: Mt. Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, drive to the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro and start your climb. You will be accompanied by experienced guides and porters as you trek through the rainforest, moorland, and alpine zones. You will stay overnight in tents at designated campsites along the way. On the final day, you will reach the summit (Uhuru Peak, 5,895m) in time to watch the sunrise. You will then descend to the base and be transferred back to your hotel in Arusha.
