6-Day Safari & Cultural Tour: Explore Wildlife and Local Traditions
Day 1: Arusha
Start your 6-day medium-range safari and cultural tour in Arusha, Tanzania's gateway to the northern safari circuit. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Take some time to relax, explore the city, and immerse yourself in the local culture.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and baobab trees. Embark on thrilling game drives to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and various bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue exploring until late afternoon. Later, head to your lodge for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Board an early morning flight from Arusha to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti National Park. Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Leave the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the Olduvai Gorge Museum along the way to learn about human evolution and archaeological discoveries. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most incredible natural wonders. Explore the crater floor, home to numerous wildlife species, including the endangered black rhino. Later, head to your lodge on the crater rim for overnight accommodation.
Day 5: Lake Eyasi and Cultural Experience
Embark on a cultural tour to Lake Eyasi, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the local Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. Learn about their traditional hunting and gathering techniques, join them for a bushwalk, and experience their unique way of life. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the lake shore before returning to your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 6: Return to Arusha
After breakfast, depart from Lake Eyasi and drive back to Arusha, where your safari and cultural tour comes to an end. Take some time to explore Arusha's local markets and shops, and perhaps pick up some souvenirs before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
