Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you will have a city tour of Addis Ababa, visiting the National Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral. In the evening, you will have a welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant with live music and dance performances.
Day 2: Blue Nile Falls and Gondar
After breakfast, you will drive to Bahir Dar and visit the Blue Nile Falls, one of Ethiopia's most spectacular waterfalls. Afterward, you will continue driving to Gondar, known for its royal castles and palaces, and take a tour of the city's UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Royal Enclosure, Fasil Ghebbi Castle, and Debre Birhan Selassie Church.
Day 3: Simien Mountains National Park
Today, you will drive to the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to some of Africa's most dramatic scenery and wildlife. You will take a guided hike through the park, admiring the stunning views of jagged mountain peaks, deep valleys, and cascading waterfalls. You might also spot some of the park's endemic wildlife, including the gelada baboon, Ethiopian wolf, and walia ibex.
Day 4: Lalibela
After breakfast, you will fly to Lalibela, home to one of Ethiopia's most famous attractions, the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will visit the 11 monolithic churches, carved out of solid rock in the 12th century, and marvel at their unique architecture and religious significance.
Day 5: Lalibela
Today, you will continue exploring Lalibela, visiting some of the lesser-known rock-hewn churches and learning more about the history and culture of this fascinating town. You might also have some free time to explore the local markets and meet the friendly locals.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa, where you will connect with your onward flight home.
