Day 1: Addis Ababa
Arrive at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital city. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the city's landmarks such as the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Merkato - the largest open-air market in Africa.
Day 2: Bahir Dar & Lake Tana
After breakfast, fly to Bahir Dar, a city located on the southern shore of Lake Tana, Ethiopia's largest lake. Take a boat ride to explore the lake's monasteries, including Ura Kidane Mihret and Azwa Maryam. In the afternoon, visit the Blue Nile Falls, locally known as Tis Abay, which is one of the country's most impressive natural sights.
Day 3: Gondar
After breakfast, depart for Gondar, a city that was Ethiopia's capital during the 17th and 18th centuries. Visit the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses several castles, palaces, and churches. Other notable sites in Gondar include the Debre Berhan Selassie church, Fasilides' Bath, and the Qusquam complex.
Day 4: Simien Mountains National Park
After breakfast, drive to the Simien Mountains National Park, which is home to some of the country's most dramatic landscapes and unique wildlife, including the gelada baboon, Ethiopian wolf, and walia ibex. Hike to the stunning viewpoints and see the natural beauty of Simien Mountains National Park.
Day 5: Addis Ababa
After breakfast, fly back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your departure time, you can spend the day shopping at local markets or visiting museums such as the Ethnographic Museum, Red Terror Martyrs Memorial Museum, or the Addis Ababa Museum. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
