Day 1: Addis Ababa

Your 5-day adventure begins in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimate to the city.

Day 2: Addis Ababa - Ahmed Ela

After breakfast, you will start your journey towards the Danakil Depression. Drive to Ahmed Ela, a small town located in the Afar Region. The journey will take you through stunning landscapes and rural villages, allowing you to catch a glimpse of Ethiopia's diverse cultures.

Day 3: Ahmed Ela - Erta Ale

Today, you will travel to the famous Erta Ale volcano, one of the few active lava lakes in the world. After breakfast, head towards the base camp of Erta Ale, where you will meet your local guides and begin the hike. The trek will take approximately 3-4 hours, so make sure to bring comfortable hiking gear and enough water to stay hydrated.

Day 4: Erta Ale - Semera

Wake up early to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the lava lake of Erta Ale. Take your time to explore the surroundings and capture some incredible photos. After descending the volcano, return to Ahmed Ela and continue the journey to Semera, the capital city of the Afar Region. Enjoy the scenic drive and immerse yourself in the local culture.

Day 5: Semera - Addis Ababa

On the final day of your trip, you will drive back to Addis Ababa, bidding farewell to the Danakil Depression. Enjoy the journey back and take in the beautiful landscapes one last time. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight or to your chosen accommodation if you wish to extend your stay in the capital city.
