Day 1: Addis Ababa
Arrive in Addis Ababa and spend the day exploring the city. Visit the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you can see the famous fossil of Lucy, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the final resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie.
Day 2: Drive to Ahmed Ela
Leave Addis Ababa early in the morning and drive to Ahmed Ela. On the way, visit the salt mines of Lake Afrera and the hot springs of Dallol. Arrive in Ahmed Ela in the evening and rest for the night.
Day 3: Explore Erta Ale
Wake up early and drive to Erta Ale, the most active volcano in Ethiopia. Hike up to the volcano and spend the night on the crater rim, experiencing the incredible sight of the lava lake.
Day 4: Drive to Semera
Leave Erta Ale early in the morning and drive to Semera, the regional capital of the Afar region. On the way, visit the ancient city of Dallol, famous for its colorful landscapes and unique geology.
Day 5: Awash National Park
Drive to Awash National Park and spend the day exploring the park. See the Awash Falls and the wildlife, including baboons, gazelles, and warthogs. Return to Addis Ababa in the evening.
