3-Day Mt Mgahinga Gorilla Trek: Mid-Range Adventure Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Take some time to rest and relax after your journey. In the afternoon, you can explore the vibrant city of Kigali, visiting attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, and craft shops. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in Kigali.
Day 2: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali and embark on a scenic drive to Mgahinga National Park in Uganda. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, crossing the border between Rwanda and Uganda. Upon arrival at the park, check-in at your mid-range lodge and have some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon, you can take a guided nature walk in the park, exploring the lush vegetation and spotting various bird species. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your lodge in Mgahinga National Park.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
Today is the highlight of your tour as you embark on an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Mgahinga National Park. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines and allocation of gorilla families to visit. With an experienced guide, begin your trek through the dense forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you locate the gorillas, you will have a magical hour to observe and photograph them in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the evening, you can participate in a cultural encounter with the Batwa Pygmies, learning about their traditional way of life. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your lodge in Mgahinga National Park.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. Enjoy the scenic drive, taking in the beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, our representative will transfer you to Kigali Airport for your departure flight.
