Unforgettable 3-Day Big 5 Safari: Murchison Falls National Park
Day 1: Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimate to the local time zone. In the afternoon, you can explore the charming town of Entebbe, visit the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, and enjoy a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, depart from Entebbe and drive to Murchison Falls National Park, which is approximately a 5-hour drive. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive in the northern part of the park, where you have the chance to spot the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), as well as other wildlife such as giraffes, antelopes, and warthogs.
After the game drive, head to the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River plunges through a narrow gorge, creating a magnificent waterfall. Enjoy the breathtaking views and take some photos before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park
Start the day with an early morning game drive in the park, as this is the best time to spot wildlife. Explore different areas of the park and keep an eye out for lions, elephants, giraffes, and various bird species. After the game drive, return to your lodge for a hearty breakfast.
In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. This boat trip offers a unique perspective of the park and allows you to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds up close. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls, where you can feel the power of the rushing water.
After the boat safari, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the evening, you can take a nature walk or go bird watching around the lodge. Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend your last night in Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and drive back to Entebbe. If time allows, you can visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way, where you can track and observe rhinos in their natural habitat. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Big 5 safari in Murchison Falls National Park.
