Rwanda to Uganda Gorilla Trek: Unforgettable 2-Day Safari


Day 1: Kigali

Start your 2-day Rwanda to Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari in the vibrant city of Kigali. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

After settling in, embark on a city tour to explore the rich history and culture of Kigali. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a poignant museum that commemorates the 1994 genocide. Learn about the tragic events that unfolded and the efforts made towards reconciliation and healing.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor the flavors of traditional Rwandan cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the Inema Arts Center, a hub for contemporary African art. Marvel at the vibrant paintings and sculptures created by local artists.

End the day with a visit to the Kimironko Market, where you can immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere and interact with local vendors. Explore the stalls selling fresh produce, crafts, and clothing, and perhaps pick up some souvenirs to take home.

Day 2: Bwindi National Park

Early in the morning, depart from Kigali and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, crossing the border between Rwanda and Uganda.

Upon reaching Bwindi National Park, enjoy a hearty lunch at a lodge near the park. Afterward, prepare for the highlight of your safari – gorilla trekking. Receive a briefing from the park rangers, who will guide you through the forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas.

The trek can be challenging, as you navigate through dense vegetation and uneven terrain. However, the reward of encountering these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable. Spend an hour observing and photographing the gorillas, observing their behavior and interactions.

After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest. Reflect on the incredible experience you had and share stories with fellow travelers over a delicious dinner.

On the following day, bid farewell to Bwindi National Park and make your way back to Kigali, where you can either continue your journey or depart for your return flight.
