Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon your arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Addis Ababa. After settling in, you will have a city tour of Addis Ababa, including a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you will see the famous Lucy fossil, and the Ethnographic Museum.
Day 2: Drive to Simien Mountains National Park
After breakfast, drive to the Simien Mountains National Park, which is home to the endemic Gelada baboon and Ethiopian wolf. Along the way, you will stop at the Portuguese Bridge, which dates back to the 16th century and was built during the reign of Emperor Susenyos.
Day 3: Trekking in Simien Mountains National Park
This day is dedicated to trekking in Simien Mountains National Park. The park is known for its breathtaking scenery and unique wildlife, including the Gelada baboon, Ethiopian wolf, and Walia ibex. You will also have the opportunity to visit the village of Chennek and meet the local people.
Day 4: Drive to Gondar
After breakfast, drive to Gondar, which was the former capital of Ethiopia during the 17th century. Here, you will visit the Royal Enclosure, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and includes the Fasil Ghebbi fortress, palaces, churches, and other buildings.
Day 5: Drive to Harar
After breakfast, drive to Harar, which is known for its unique culture and architecture. Here, you will visit the walled city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Harar Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the region.
Day 6: Explore Harar
This day is dedicated to exploring Harar. You will visit the colorful markets, the Hyena Man, who feeds hyenas by hand, and the French poet Rimbaud's house, where he lived for several years.
Day 7: Drive to Aledeghi
After breakfast, drive to Aledeghi, which is located in the Bale Mountains National Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the Ethiopian wolf, which is the rarest canid in the world, and other wildlife such as the Bale monkey.
Day 8: Trekking in Bale Mountains National Park
This day is dedicated to trekking in the Bale Mountains National Park. You will hike to the Sanetti Plateau, which is home to the Ethiopian wolf and other endemic species such as the giant mole-rat and the Starck's hare.
Day 9: Drive to Awash National Park
After breakfast, drive to Awash National Park, which is located in the Great Rift Valley. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the Awash River Falls, which is a spectacular waterfall that drops 42 meters.
Day 10: Explore Awash National Park
This day is dedicated to exploring Awash National Park. You will have the opportunity to see wildlife such as the Beisa oryx, Soemmering's gazelle, and the Hamadryas baboon. You will also visit the hot springs and the Awash River Gorge.
Day 11: Drive to Lake Ziway
After breakfast, drive to Lake Ziway, which is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Ethiopia. Here, you will have the opportunity to see a variety of bird species such as the African fish eagle, Marabou stork, and the African spoonbill.
Day 12: Boat tour on Lake Ziway
This day is dedicated to a boat tour on Lake Ziway. You will have the opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. You will also visit the islands on the lake, which are home to monasteries and ancient churches.
Day 13: Drive to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa. On the way, you will stop at the Tiya archaeological site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and includes 36 standing stones, which are decorated with symbols and carvings.
Day 14: Addis Ababa city tour
