Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon your arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own leisure.
Day 2: Addis Ababa City Tour
After breakfast, you will embark on a city tour of Addis Ababa. The tour includes a visit to the National Museum, where you will see the famous fossil remains of Lucy, as well as the Ethnographic Museum, which houses a collection of Ethiopian artifacts and crafts. You will also visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral, which is the final resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie. In the evening, you can enjoy traditional Ethiopian cuisine and a cultural dance performance.
Day 3: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar
After breakfast, you will be driven to Bahir Dar, a city located on the southern shore of Lake Tana. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and then take a boat ride on Lake Tana to visit the ancient monasteries located on the lake's islands. You will also visit the Blue Nile Falls, one of Ethiopia's most spectacular natural attractions.
Day 4: Bahir Dar – Gondar
After breakfast, you will leave Bahir Dar and drive to Gondar, a city known for its medieval castle and churches. You will visit the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses the castles of former Ethiopian emperors. You will also visit the Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famous for its impressive murals and paintings.
Day 5: Gondar – Lalibela
After breakfast, you will fly to Lalibela, which is famous for its rock-hewn churches. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and then visit the first group of churches, which are carved out of solid rock. These 11 churches are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and are considered to be some of the most impressive architectural achievements of medieval Ethiopia.
Day 6: Lalibela
Today, you will visit the second group of churches, which are located outside of the town. These churches are carved out of the rock and are connected by a network of tunnels and trenches. You will also have the opportunity to visit the local market and interact with the local people.
Day 7: Lalibela – Addis Ababa – Langano
After breakfast, you will fly back to Addis Ababa and then drive to Langano, a beautiful lake located in the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing by the lake.
Day 8: Langano – Arba Minch
After breakfast, you will drive to Arba Minch, a city located in southern Ethiopia. Along the way, you will stop at the Dorze village, where you will see the traditional houses and weaving skills of the Dorze people. Upon arrival in Arba Minch, you will check into your hotel and then visit the crocodile farm and the Nechisar National Park.
Day 9: Arba Minch – Jinka
After breakfast, you will drive to Jinka, a town located in the Omo Valley. Along the way, you will visit the Konso village, known for its terraced fields and unique culture. Upon arrival in Jinka, you will check into your hotel and then visit the local market and museum.
Day 10: Jinka – Mago National Park – Jinka
Today, you will visit the Mago National Park, which is home to several indigenous tribes, including the Mursi and the Surma. You will have the opportunity to visit the villages of these tribes and learn about their customs and traditions.
Day 11: Jinka – Turmi
After breakfast, you will drive to Turmi, a town located in the heart of the Hamer tribe. Along the way, you will visit the Dimeka market, where the Hamer and other tribes gather to sell their goods. Upon arrival in Turmi, you will check into your hotel and then visit a Hamer village.
Day 12: Turmi – Omorate – Turmi
Today, you will visit the Omorate village, which is located on the banks of the Omo River. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Dasenech tribe and learn about their culture and way of life.
Day 13: Turmi – Arba Minch
After breakfast, you will drive back to Arba Minch, where you will check into your hotel and then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 14: Arba Minch – Addis Ababa
After breakfast, you will drive back to Addis Ababa, where you will check into your hotel and then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 15: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bole International Airport for your departure flight. End of the tour.
