Below is the best Itinerary that helps you explore these destinations on a safari starting from Entebbe International Airport.
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, our representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore the city.
Day 2: Addis Ababa - Bahir Dar
After breakfast, drive to Bahir Dar through the beautiful countryside scenery of Ethiopia. After arrival, we will take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret and Azwa Maryam.
Day 3: Bahir Dar - Gondar
After breakfast, drive to Gondar, a city famous for its well-preserved 17th-century castles and palaces. Visit the Royal Enclosure, Fasil Ghebbi, and Debre Berhan Selassie Church, known for its beautiful murals.
Day 4: Gondar - Simien Mountains NP
After breakfast, drive to the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy breathtaking views of the stunning landscape, and spot unique wildlife, such as the Gelada baboon and the Walia ibex. Overnight camping in the park.
Day 5: Simien Mountains NP - Axum
After breakfast, drive to Axum, the ancient capital of Ethiopia and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the famous obelisks, the ruins of Queen of Sheba’s palace, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion, which is believed to house the Ark of the Covenant.
Day 6: Axum - Lalibela
After breakfast, fly to Lalibela, another UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its rock-hewn churches. Visit the first and second groups of churches, including the iconic Church of St. George, which is carved out of solid rock.
Day 7: Lalibela
After breakfast, visit the third group of churches, which are located a short distance from the town. These churches are known for their unique architecture and intricate carvings.
Day 8: Lalibela - Awasa
After breakfast, drive to Awasa, a city located on the shore of Lake Awasa. Upon arrival, visit the local fish market and take a boat trip on the lake to spot hippos and various bird species.
Day 9: Awasa - Arba Minch
After breakfast, drive to Arba Minch, a city located between two lakes. Visit the Dorze village, known for their traditional weaving and unique beehive-shaped houses.
Day 10: Arba Minch
After breakfast, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to spot crocodiles, hippos, and various bird species. In the afternoon, visit the Nechisar National Park to spot unique wildlife, such as the Swayne’s hartebeest and the Greater kudu.
Day 11: Arba Minch - Addis Ababa
After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, visit the National Museum, where you can see the famous Lucy skeleton, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the final resting place of Ethiopia’s last emperor.
Day 12: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of tour.
