Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be met by a representative from your chosen tour operator and transferred to your hotel in Addis Ababa. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore the city and visit some of its iconic landmarks, such as the National Museum of Ethiopia or the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
Day 2: Addis Ababa to Gambella
After breakfast, you will take a domestic flight to Gambella, a town located in the southwestern region of Ethiopia. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will have a briefing on the upcoming safari and the opportunity to explore the town.
Day 3-4: Gambella National Park
Over the next two days, you will explore the Gambella National Park, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, and more. You will go on game drives and guided walks, accompanied by experienced guides who will help you spot and identify the different animals and birds living in the park.
Day 5: Gambella to Kibish
After breakfast, you will depart Gambella for Kibish, a small town located in the Omo Valley region of Ethiopia. You will drive through stunning landscapes and have the opportunity to stop along the way to take photos and interact with local communities.
Day 6-7: Surma Villages
Over the next two days, you will explore the Surma villages, home to the Surma people, who are known for their unique body adornments, including lip plates and scarification. You will have the opportunity to visit different villages, meet the locals, and learn about their culture and traditions.
Day 8: Kibish to Mizan Teferi
After breakfast, you will drive to Mizan Teferi, a town located in the southwestern region of Ethiopia. Along the way, you will stop at different villages and markets and have the opportunity to interact with local communities.
Day 9: Mizan Teferi to Bebeka Coffee Plantation
After breakfast, you will drive to Bebeka Coffee Plantation, one of the largest coffee plantations in Ethiopia. You will have the opportunity to tour the plantation, learn about the coffee production process, and sample some of the local brews.
Day 10: Bebeka Coffee Plantation to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, you will drive back to Addis Ababa, stopping at different villages and markets along the way. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will have the opportunity to do some last-minute shopping before your departure.
Day 11: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
