Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with immigration and customs procedures. From there, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and rest.
Day 2: Addis Ababa Exploration
After breakfast, you will catch a flight to Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. Once you arrive, you will embark on a guided city tour, exploring the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the bustling Mercato market. In the evening, you will return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3: Bahir Dar and Lake Tana
After breakfast, you will fly to Bahir Dar, a city located on the southern shore of Lake Tana. Upon arrival, you will visit the breathtaking Blue Nile Falls, also known as "The Smoking Water." Later, you will take a boat excursion on Lake Tana to explore its beautiful islands and ancient monasteries. In the evening, you will return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4: Simien Mountains National Park
Today, you will travel to Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning landscapes and unique wildlife. Upon arrival, you will embark on a hiking expedition to discover the park's natural wonders, including the breathtaking escarpments and endemic wildlife such as the Ethiopian wolf and Gelada baboon. You will camp overnight in the park.
Day 5: Axum Ancient City
After breakfast, you will drive to Axum, an ancient city and one of Ethiopia's most significant archaeological sites. In Axum, you will visit the famous obelisks, ancient tombs, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion, which is believed to house the Ark of the Covenant. After exploring the city, you will return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6: Gheralta Rock Churches
Today, you will journey to the Gheralta region, famous for its rock-hewn churches. You will hike to these unique churches, carved directly into the cliffs, and witness their beautiful frescoes and religious artifacts. The Gheralta region offers not only historical and cultural attractions but also stunning landscapes. After a day of exploration, you will return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 7-10: Gheralta Trekking and Cultural Immersion
For the next four days, you will engage in a trekking adventure in the Gheralta region, exploring its hidden valleys, ancient cave dwellings, and remote villages. This immersive experience will allow you to interact with the local communities, learn about their traditions, and witness their unique way of life. Each day, you will camp in different locations, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the region.
Day 11: Departure from Entebbe International Airport
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. As you leave, you will carry with you unforgettable memories of the diverse landscapes, rich history, and warm hospitality of North Ethiopia.
